Crankies

In the golden city of Marbelous, lived a Jack in the box that was
abandoned. For years, he sat in a dusty corner of an antique shop, longing for
someone to wind his crank and bring him to life once more. But no one came, and he
was eventually discarded in a dumpster.

One day, a homeless man with magical powers stumbled upon the dumpster and
saw the Jack in the box. He felt a strange connection to the toy and used his powers
to bring it to life. The Jack in the box was overjoyed to be alive again and sat on the
street with the homeless man, smiling at passers-by.

People were amazed to see the Jack in the box moving and talking. They would stop
and take pictures, and sometimes they would leave money for the homeless man
and his living toy. The Jack in the box loved the attention and felt grateful to have a
companion.

However, things took a dark turn when a mysterious storm began to form over the
Golden City. The homeless man knew they had to leave, and he gifted an axe to the
Jack in the box, naming him Crankie as he would always complain about the
weather. Crankie was nervous but trusted the homeless man and held onto the axe
tightly.

As they journeyed through the city, they encountered many dangers.
Finally, they arrived at a safe haven, and the homeless man used his magic to build
a shelter for them. But as they settled in for the night, the homeless man suddenly
fell ill. Crankie was heartbroken, and he knew he had to do something to help his
friend.

He remembered the axe the homeless man had given him and used it to chop
firewood and build a fire. He even cooked food and cared for the homeless man until
he recovered. The two of them stayed in the shelter for many months, but eventually,
the homeless man and his powers faded, and he passed away.

Crankie was alone once more, but he knew that he had to continue on, carrying the
memory of his friend with him. He picked up the axe and with one swing into the dirt
set out into the unknown, determined to survive whatever challenges lay ahead.
